Somehow the blog got deleted by google during the offseason so I think this marks a good time for a reboot of the Zook Awards. Luckily I have almost all of the previous award winners saved and will be reposting them but I also think its time to change things up a little bit.
First, we are going to be adding polls so readers can vote and we can include links to youtube highlights (or lowlights actually) of the games we are discussing. Second, we are going to move away from the old system of just 3 points for a win, 1 point for a runner-up.
The new system will still allow for 1 or 2 winners and 1 or 2 runners up (for a total of no more than 3 coaches) but we will now be listing an unlimited number of honorable mentions. This way a coach who is consistently very bad but just not quite the worst every week will get his fair share of recognition and points. The points system will also be more flexible because not all incompetent coaching performances are created equal. The winner can receive either 10, 8, or 6 points depending on how bad he Zooked up the game. The runners-up can receive 3 or 4 points and the honorable mentions will receive 1 point each.
I'll be reposting the Zook Awards history, qualifications, and by-laws and kicking off this week's round of nominations shortly!
